Born 1944, graduated as B.A. Social Work (Munich 1967), M.A. Sociology (Berlin 1977). Experiences in migration: 1973-80 consultant for non-european asylum seekers and migrants in Berlin; 1980-1984 Programme Officer at UNHCR Branch Office for Kenia/East Africa; 1984-1989 Professor for intercultural social work, migration and asylum at Emden School of Social Work /Univ. of Applied Sciences; 1989-1991: consultant in development cooperation (Africa, Asia, Brasil); 1991-92 IOM Chief of Mission for Iraq-management of migration movements within and out of the Golf regioan after the Kuwait war (UN inter-agency operation); since 1992: own consulting office proMig Consult, consulting in migration issues, forced migration, asylum, conflict/post conflict, demobilisation and reintegration of ex-combatants, reintegration/ return movements in Africa, Middle East, Asia, Balkan region.
