Markus Kaiser, 1968, Dr. rer. soc.
Visiting professorships/lectureships at the Eurasian National University (ENU, KAZ), American University in Bishkek (KYR) and the Faculty of Sociology, State University of St. Petersburg (RUS).
Research Fellow at the University of Trier (D); service provider for the OSCE-Academy in Bishkek (KYR); from 1999-2005 senior lecturer in Development Studies at the Faculty of Sociology and research fellow of the Institute of Global Society Studies, both University of Bielefeld (D). From 2001 until 2004 he served as director of the Center for German and European Studies at the St. Petersburg State University (RUS). In 2001 he was research fellow at the Center for Development Research, University of Bonn (D).
Fields of interest: transnationalization and migration, transformation, globalisation of knowledge, development studies, countries in transition.
