Dr. Jenny Phillimore
Senior lecturer at the University of Birmingham. Jenny Phillimore is Senior Lecturer specialising in research into new migration. She has undertaken research and managed projects for a wide range of Government departments, the EU, research councils and charitable foundations and local authorities. Previous projects include work for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation looking at refugee mental health, a study of the service needs of new arrivals for Birmingham City Council, and an evaluation of integration projects including women’s projects for the UK Home Office. She is currently undertaking research for Barrow Cadbury Trust looking at ways in which undocumented migrants can be supported to access services and for the department of health looking at migrant women’s maternity needs. Jenny is a fellow of the RSA, a member of the WRMP Refugee Mental Health Network and of the Healthy Lifestyles steering group (a women’s health project). She frequently advises government on migrant integration matters and has published widely in the area of new migration
