Dr. Heike Drotbohm
MA Social Anthropology, religious studies and educational sciences in Muenster and Marburg. 1999-2004 consultant in bilateral DC, focus on the promotion of children and youth, non-formal education.
PhD on the Haitian diaspora in Montreal, Canada. Focus on the transformations of religious practices, esp. belief in spirits / spiritual practices.
2004 - 2011 teaching Anthropology at Freiburg University. Research on transnational Cape Verdean families, esp. with regard to the perspective of (non-migrant) family members living in the country of origin and the integration of deported migrants into their communities of origin.
2011-2012 Fellow at the International Research Centre "Work and the Lifecycle in Global History", HU Berlin.
