1. Check in, conference site, reimbursement

The conference will take place in the room 2103 at the main building of Humboldt-University (Unter den Linden 6 (map: ), first floor European counting, second floor American counting; signs will be available).
Check in time for the conference on Thursday, October 26 is between 12 pm and 2 pm in front of room 2103. A conference folder will be provided upon check in (not in the guesthouse as mentioned in a mail in June). The conference will start at 2 pm.
Reimbursement procedures will take place upon check in. PLEASE BRING A COPY OF YOUR TICKET AND A COPY OF YOUR RECEIPT/INVOICE. Otherwise reimbursement will not be possible. One of our students, Jana Barthel, will take care of the reimbursement. Please make sure not to check in all simultaneously at five to two...


2. Accommodation/Food

We will offer accommodation for all participants at the Humboldt University guest house (Gästehaus, Ziegelstrasse 13a, Berlin Mitte (map: ), S Bahn stopp Oranienburger Tor or Friedrichstrasse alternatively subway stop Friedrichstrasse or Oranienburger Str.). 


Expenses for lodging will be covered completely by us. We made reservations for each participant. 

Breakfast is not available at the guest house, however, we will take care of it by way of catering. It will be served in the conference room half an hour before starting on Friday and Saturday. Moreover, lunch and dinner will also be provided. 

PLEASE CONTACT Anne von Oswald via email (oswalda@zedat.fu-berlin.de) in case that you DO NOT INTEND TO JOIN US FOR DINNER on Thursday and/or Friday. We need to make reservations. 

The main building is a five minute walk from the guesthouse. A little map will be provided upon check in at the guesthouse. You can check in at the guesthouse on Thursday from 11 am on. If you arrive earlier give it a try, rooms might already be ready.


3. Arriving in Berlin

...Bahnhof Zoo: Take any S-Bahn bound eastward. Get off at the fourth stop which is Friedrichstrasse. The guest house is within walking distance (see map on the homepage)

...Ostbahnhof: Take any S-Bahn bound westward. Get off at the fourth stop which is Friedrichstrasse. The guest house is within walking distance (see map on the homepage)

...Tegel airport: Take bus 128 to Kurt-Schumacher-Platz (direction Osloer Str.). Get off at subway stop Kurt-Schumacher-Platz and take subway U6 (direction Alt-Mariendorf). Get off at Oranienburger Str. (ninth stop) or Friedrichstrasse (tenth stop). The guest house is within walking distance (see map on the homepage).

...Tempelhof airport: Take subway U6 from Platz der Luftbrücke (direction Alt-Tegel). Get off at Friedrichstrasse (fifth stop) or Oranienburger Str. (sixth stop). The guest house is within walking distance (see map on the homepage).

...airport Schönefeld: take the subway which starts at the airport. The sixteenth stop is Friedrichsstrasse. The guest house is within walking distance (see map on the homepage). 


4. Conference Program

The (most recent) program of the conference is available at the conference webpage. There have been changes to the program. Make sure that you have the most recent version. The final version will be provided in the conference folder.


5. Papers and comments 

19 out of 22 papers are available online. We hope to receive the last three within the next days. You can download them individually or all at once in a zip file. The comments on the papers (virtual conference) shall be available in a single file online by October 20 .
We will provide some hard copies of the papers at the conference, however, we need to charge for it to cover the copy costs (DM 2 per paper). Thus, you might want to bring your own print-outs.


6. Display of own publications

Bring copies of your own books and articles. We would like to display them during the conference. Of course you are also welcome to donate them to our university library...


7. Guided tour

If you are interested in the guided tour on Saturday afternoon (immigrant neighborhoods/Kreuzberg; it will last around 90 minutes), please send an email to Monika Mattes (mmatimag@calvados.zrz.tu-berlin.de). The tour costs around DM 10 and is worth doing.
